Choose one question or the other. 1. What one thing from the first 18 lines of The Canterbury Tales will you remember the longest? or 2. What one thing about Chaucer's life will you remember the longest?
One thing I will remember longest about Geoffrey Chaucer is the fact that he worked with so many different kings. Kings rule from when they are crowned until they die or until they are removed from position as king. Therefore, Chaucer had to have had his job for a very long time. He also must have been excellent at his job, working under so many differnt rulers.
Of Chaucer's life, I will most remember that above all, he was an ordinary man. Although he may have been a soldier, his experiences of his capture were no different than those of any other of his fellow men. His position in politics and the time he spent serving three kings under three different houses had no impact upon his character. He was a simple sort of man, and his writing largely reflects that.
The birds is what I will remember the longest. I learned some new things about them from reading that tale. The way they chirp at night and what it actually does mean. Birds are very interesting creatures.
The first eighteen lines of The Canterbury Tales are very interesting. However, the one thing I remember most is the birds having sex. I will never forget Mr. Cordle's explanation of this memorable line. Thank you Mr. Cordle.
I will remember the quote about the birds when they made noise through the night because they wanted to mate. Thats the part i will remember because we emphzise more about it.

I will always remember that Chaucer survived under three different kings. He also survived the changes of the houses. King Edward III contributed to his ransom. And when he did retire from service of the kings. King Edward granted him a pension in wine a day.
I will remember that the Canterbury Tales took place in the month of the Ram, which is the zodiac sign for Aries. It occurred during mid-April when the weather was perfect for the religious vacations and pilgrimages the people of that time enjoyed taking. I will remember this fact the longest because I am interested in Astrology and my birthday is in April. -LoRi

Leigh There are several things are about Chaucer's life that I remember. The one thing that I would probably recall the longest is that is father was a wine merchant. His father sold wine for money. That helped provide the money for Chaucer as a child to go to school. Back during those years schooling was not free. Only the parents that could pay for their child's education sent them to school. Being schooled as a young child i believe helped Chaucer gain his intellect with writing.
The one thing I will remember the longest about Chaucer's life is that his father was a wine merchant. The reason I will remember that the longest is the story Mr.Cordle related it to about alcohol bootleggers in Alabama. I laughed pretty hard during that story, and will probably never forget it. One thing I will remember most about Chaucer's life is how he wrote most of his famous works as a younger man. Many of his writings were written about young ideas and images because he was around 20 when he wrote them. However, all the self drawings and portraits of himself captured an image of quite an older man. Like many writers trying to get their works noticed, his fame didn't come until his later years. In Chaucer's life, I will remember the most when he had been captured. Then, the King paid for Geoffrey Chaucer to be released from the people holding him. In my opinion, it seems that Geoffrey had done numerous things throughout his life that made people like him. The King paid for his ransom so that he would be set free and continue his life.
There are many things I will remember about Chaucer's life. One main thing I will remember about Chaucer is his unfinished work of "The Canterbury Tales". Also he was a soldier and captured. He was very important to the king because the king paid half of his ransom to have him released. Finally, The last thing i will remember is that some people say he is the father of English literature.
I will remember that Chaucer's was not old but they still painted pictures of him like he was old. When he was young he was a solider and got captured. He was sometimes called the father of English literature. He was very important to the king because he paid half of the ransom.
The thing I will remember the longest will more than likely be that Geoffrey Chaucer was often known as the father of English poetry. I love poetry. I find it very relaxing. It takes someone who is in great deep that with themselves and the surroundings around them. You can write poetry about almost anything, you just have to be good at it. Ryan
I really enjoy reading great American and British literature. The poetry of Emily Dickinson is some of my favorite, along with the plays of William Shakespeare. I also enjoy American and British history and exploring the relationship of how the history of a certain time period is reflected in the literature from that same period.
The thing I would probably would remember about Chaucer's life would be that he was very smart and he loved is poetry on The Canterbury Tales.
