If i would have been one of Beowulfs men, I would have had enough of respect to help my leader in the battle for life. Beowulf was much older then he was when he was fighting off monsters, he was not as strong as he once was. He was a great and powerful man at one time. Tayler
If I were one of Beowulf's men, I definitely would have helped him in his fight with the ferocious dragon. Beowulf was 70 years old when this battle took place. Of course someone should have helped him. This was too big of a task for someone his age, even if he was the strongest and bravest man alive.
Yes! I would have helped Beowulf without having to think about it. If you consider yourself someones man or friend your suppose to have there back know matter what. But apparently his men were cowards.
Yes, because he would have died if I didn't help him in his battle against the Dragon. He would have helped me if I was in danger. He is greatest warrior I have ever known and I will never forget him.
If I would have been one of Beowulf's men I would have most defiantly helped him slay the dragon! Not only because he would have been my king but also to show him how strong and brave of a warrior I was. Fighting with him would have shown him respect and dedication. For if I would have succeeded in killing the dragon I would also be known as a hero. -LoRi
Yes, I would have helped him. Some of the reasons why is he needed help and he would have probably helped me out if I need him to. Beowulf was a well respected man and it would have been great honor to help fight with him.
If I would have been one of Beowulf's men, I would have fought to the death for my king. Beowulf had done so much for those men and for the people. He had risked his life in battles so that his people would be better off. These men in a sense owed him their lives and the least they could have done was to stay there and fight by there king's side. They did not show any type of appreciation for what Beowulf had done for them. Beowulf gave his last battle everything he had and I would have been right there with him.
Leigh If I were one of Beowulf's men I would help him. One reason is because if I was a warrior I would not want to look bad to my leader. I would want to live up to his name and his courage as a warrior. Secondly backing out of a fight would be a sign of weakness and a warrior should stay around to help his leader. Even if the fight seems unbeatable a soldier should stay around even if it meant death.
Yes,I would have helped him! He was such a heroic person to all the people there, it would have been an honor to have fought with him. He was an outstanding person to follow into battle!
If I was one of Beowulf's men I would have helped him. I would rather try an help him instead of him dieing an knowing I could have saved him. I would have felt better about my self knowing that I fought my for king an died fighting beside him
If I was one of Beowulf's men I would have let him fight the Dragon on his own. One reason why is because I think it has something to do with pride and him being the king i think it was his obligation. Also since he didn't ask for help then i wouldn't want to do something that i wasn't asked to do.
I would have fought with Beowulf during his fight with the Dragon. Since we twelve knights were chosen as his elite group, its the least we can do. Were we not chosen as his strongest and bravest twelve? Would it not be an honorable death to fight and die along side of the greatest king in all the land? Yes, i would take hold of my shield and unsheathe my sword to help King Beowulf in his struggle with the Dragon.
If I were one of Beowulf's warriors, I would have helped him fight the Dragon. I would have stood up for my king and country instead of being a coward and stepping down. It would have made a person seem unloyal to their king by backing down from a battle.
If I was one of Beowulf's men I would have help him in the fight against the dragon. Beowulf was a warrior in his youth so he should still have the opportunity to continue his legend at an old age. He even still had the heart of a warrior so I would do as much as I could to help him. Even with his old age I would know that we would be able to persevere and slay the dragon.
If I would have been one of Beowulf's men, I would have been fighting right along with him.To know that you had a warrior like Beowulf, who killed Grendal and his mother,I would have helped Beowulf.
If I would have been one Beowulf's men I would not have helped him fight the Dragon. One reason is because Beowulf wanted to fight the Dragon himself. I believe it was more of an honor and pride thing. Wiglaf tried his best to fight off the Dragon and also failed, so I would not put my self in that situation.
If I was one of Beowulf's men, I would have helped him fight against the dragon.I would do so becuase he was a loyal and caring leader and he would have done the same for me. He was an older man and to be there for him in his last times would mean a lot to both him and myself.
The will of a person to perform tasks that are expected of him reflect greatly upon his leader. Strong leadership plays a vital role in the morale and efficiency of followers. When a leader shows that he holds those skills in his arsenal, those being of lesser rank are more likely to follow suit. Because of the way Beowulf displayed leadership in his earlier battles, I would be moved to assist him in his final battle. A man will be remembered as a leader for a short while after his death if he was a good leader. However, Beowulf will continue to be remembered for future generations because he was a great leader.
Rachel If I were one of Beowulf's men, I believe I would stay to help him fight against the dragon because it seems like the right thing to do. However, that choice would take a tramendous amount of courage, skill, and obedience to Beowulf. Come to think of it, if I was in dire need of someone's help, I would hope at least one lone soul would stay to aid me. Especially since he was seventy years old. So, to aid Beowulf in his dangerous battle, I would definately stay to help, even if the crowd chooses otherwise.
I definitely would fight the dragon alongside Beowulf. Sure the adversary was fierce, strong, and extremely deadly, but Beowulf is our king! He is a great king! It would be my honor to stand and fight next to Beowulf, even if it would be my last battle. I was chosen as one of the greatest of Beowulf's men for this battle. I would never forgive myself for leaving our great king behind for almost certain death.
If I was one of Beowulf's men,I would help him fight the dragon because he couldn't do it by himself, even if he was a strong man. He would have probably did the same for his men if one of them were fighting the dragon.
I really enjoy reading great American and British literature. The poetry of Emily Dickinson is some of my favorite, along with the plays of William Shakespeare. I also enjoy American and British history and exploring the relationship of how the history of a certain time period is reflected in the literature from that same period.
